Steenson Brick & Blocklaying was engaged by M2 Constructions, Brisbane, under renowned architect Shaun Lockyer.
This project demanded traditional Old English bond brickwork—alternating headers and stretchers—with vintage, textured bricks sourced from recycled Sydney stock. The featured brickwork, including two signature chimneys (one exceeding 7 metres), showcased the team’s exceptional craftsmanship. Drawing on rare traditional skills, Tony and the crew delivered a remarkable, architecturally striking result.

Steenson Brick and Blocklaying were contracted by Sivbuild, Goonellabah
Steenson Brick & Blocklaying constructed a new architecturally designed brick-veneer home with block sub-floor near Lismore. The multi-level residence, built on a steep slope, presented unique challenges that honed the team’s expertise. Despite heavy spring rains, the project finished on time and within budget.
Commercial Project – Lismore, Art Gallery
Steenson Brick and Blocklaying were contracted by Bennett Construction, the principal being Lismore City Council.
The Lismore Regional Art Gallery was in need of a revitalising facelift. Tony and the team collaborated with an architect to replace outdated windows with ornate brickwork and added two decorative gables to highlight the roof’s pitch. Situated in a bustling public area, workplace safety remained paramount. The outcome: a striking, geometrically elegant enhancement to the art space.
Commercial Project – Ballina, Cafe Counter
